Camping

Our fairgrounds offer camping spaces exclusively for exhibitors and participants with registered animals. If you had a camping space last year, claim the same spot by May 31st to ensure your place at this year's fair. Stay close to your exhibits and enjoy the full fair experience without missing a beat.

When is the fair scheduled, and what are the opening hours?

The Fair officially starts on Tuesday, 7/23/24 and ends Saturday, 7/27/24!

What are the ticket prices, and where can I purchase them?

Armbands for rides will go on sell in June and will be available at local banks in Columbus, KS and at the American Bank in Baxter Springs, KS and Galena, KS. Pre-sell armbands will be $25 till Monday, 7/22/24. You will then be able to purchase armbands each night at the fair for $30.

You will also be able to purchase tickets to use for rides. Ticket prices are determined by the carnival ride provider at the time of fair.

What types of payments do you accept at the fair?

The Carnival will accept cash but will be an atm available to use to get cash. Some vendors may take cards but it will be up to the individual vendors.

What facilities are available for families with young children?

A nursing station and diaper changing station will be available at the quonset hut.

Are pets allowed at the fair?

No dogs, cats, or other pets, with the exception of Assistance Dog shall be permitted on the Fairgrounds this includes the livestock areas.

What kind of events and attractions can we expect this year?

The Cherokee County Fair will have carnival rides, animals, bands, food, arts & crafts, and more!

Are there age restrictions for certain rides or events?

The rides have age and height restrictions. You will need to with the ride attendants at the fair. We do not know which rides will be at the fair until they are here as it is determined on a variety of factors outside of our control.

Will there be fireworks or any special showcases?

There will be no fireworks at the fair.

What security measures are in place at the fair?

Law Enforcement will be present at the fair. If there is an emergency, please dial 911.

What should I do if I lose something at the fair?

Lost and found items can be picked up at the Fair Board Office.

What food options are available? Can I bring my own food and drinks?

There will be a variety of food items available at the Fair including the American Legion, Girl Scout House, and many other food vendors.

Will there be merchandise or souvenirs for sale?

There will be multiple vendors set up with different types of merchandise available for purchase.
